December 13, 2009 - Avon Youth League, Division 4

Match report:

Back to playing league game, resulting in a 3-0 loss against a much improved Broadwalk. Dan V and Callum C, made

their league debut. Two goals in the first half, got us on the back foot and an early goal in the second half killed

off any thought of a fightback.

Reflecting on the match, it was a bit disappointing, maybe we can put it down to lack of match practice or even introducing new players.

Broadwalk were up for it and we were not. I put my hand up and say I should have insisted that we stick to our normal game plan instead of debating tactics with players. This won't happen again, the coaching team will tell the players their role and we will make sure they stick to it.

We all need to play as a team and keep our shape and take responsibility. We each have a job to do and if we don't do it, it means there is a gap that somebody else has to try to fill.

If we all play the game individually and do our own thing, we won't be successful.

Luckily we know we can play better and we play Broadwalk again next week and this time, we need to

compete and play as a team.

In the short burst that we did, we played well and made chances.
